Karibu! We’ll handle everything from picking you up at the airport to getting you to the beach hotel and get you settled in your room. Take some time to rest, and then join us for a fantastic welcome dinner with fellow retreat participants.
Explore the majestic Shimba National Reserve
Discover the magic of Shimba National Reserve in Mombasa! Picture open grasslands, lush rainforests, and stunning ocean views. Get ready for thrilling encounters with elephants, giraffes, buffalos, impalas, and even mischievous monkeys. Don’t miss the incredible Shedrick’s Falls – a majestic wonder waiting to be explored! Shimba National Reserve is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Get ready for a wild journey like no other!
A trip to one of the worlds largest reefs.
Let’s embark on a sea safari to one of the worlds largest reefs! The day starts early as you head south towards shimoni. On the drive south you pass through the lush coconut and cashew plantations. Here we have plantations that have thrived since the early days of settlement along the coast. Deep sea diving in Wasini Island south of Mombasa has been revered for its bounty. When you reach your destination of Shimoni “the place of the cave” you will board a motorized dhow to Kisite. Now the best part of the journey begins as you sail through an enchanting seascape of islands set in a pristine sea of unbelievable blue. Enjoy the dolphin spotting. Then arrive Kisite Marine Park, an underwater park. It is here that underwater splendors await you. In the shallow warm water that surround Kisite Island the water abounds with marine life. Here you can snorkel and marvel at the incredible variety of marine life. Scuba Divers can explore a number of excellent dive sites in the coral reefs. There is an astounding amount of and variety of marine life at all levels of the reefs. To top off the trip, sumptuous Swahili style seafood lunch is served at Wasini island restaurant. After lunch when you have had your fill we visit a traditional village before returning back to the Hotel in the evening.
Full day trip to the vibrant coastal city of Mombasa
We will have a delicious Breakfast and then leave for our Mombasa City Tour – The tour presents some of the best highlights of this colorful old city including the old Arab town, with it’s maze of narrow twisting alleys displaying the beautifully curved doors and verandahs, bazaars with curio and antique shops. The famous fort Jesus enjoying its beautiful history and a Hindu temple. Drive to the bazaar for a short shopping expedition not forgetting a visit to the famous elephant tusks on Moi Avenue, and then Lunch . And how about a nature walk with giraffes? Let’s, proceed to Nguuni nature Sanctuary, where you will Immerse yourself in nature as you walk through the Acacia woodland discovering families of Giraffe, Ostrich, Oryx and Elands wandering through their natural habitats. Then our personal driver will return us to our beach hotel for dinner.
Let the safari begin – Journey to Tsavo West National Park
Drive to Tsavo West National Park famous for the Mzima Springs, with its unique underwater hippo observatory. Both Tsavo East and west are famous for the largest population of red-skinned elephants. The “Big 5” African animals are well represented. There is also a host of Kenyan birds and other animals including leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, plains game, crocodile, and plenty of additional small mammals, birds and insects. From Lake Jipe, on the Tanzanian border, to the mountain forests of the Chyulu Hills, the wide range of landscape offers protection to many endangered African wildlife including the Cosen’s gerbil, Hunter’s hartebeest, black rhinoceros, several species of shrew and rat, Grevy’s zebra and wild dogs. Arrive for lunch and continue with an afternoon safari drive. Later we we will have Dinner and check in to your lodge
Day 2 of the Safari
We’ll start with an early morning safari drive when the animals are the most active. We will then return for breakfast and check out . Our destination today is Saltlick lodge set in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary . The lodge overlooks a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains. It is built top stilts overlooking a watering hole and designed for lofty animal viewing from its thatched roof rondavels and walkways (Imagine waking up seeing a family of elephants through your window – yeah.). We will have Lunch at Taita Hill Game Lodge, then head out for an Afternoon for a game drive where animals expected to be seen include lions, cheetah, baboons, giraffes, elephants just to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight at the famous Saltlick game lodge.
Authentic Maasai Experience: A Village Adventure
This is our last day of Safari. We will start an Early morning game drive before the heat of the day, return for breakfast and leave for a visit to a Maasai Village. You will mingle with the Maa people and learn more about their rich culture. (Did you know – the Maasai are considered one of the oldest and most well-known ethnic groups in Kenya. The Maasai have a long history and are believed to have inhabited the region for several centuries. They have maintained their cultural practices and traditions over generations amidst modernization, which contributes to their reputation as one of the enduring tribes in Kenya). After forging this profound and awe-inspiring connection with the Maasai warriors, we will have a Hot lunch and leave for Akamba wood carvers center. Here you will meet and enjoy the work of the talented carvers. You can buy some souvenirs directly from the artisans to take home. This marks the end of our Safari . Next stop – Drop off to the beach hotel and dinner.
Beachfront Oasis: Embrace the Tranquility of Kenya’s Coast
After a delicious breakfast, we will gather and create space for reflection, setting intentions, and releasing mental and emotional baggage through a transformation coaching workshop, breakthrough breathwork, and guided meditation, opening up space within for what will serve you moving forward.
The remainder of the day spend resting on the beach and enjoying the 5-star resort amenities. We want to make sure you get your fill of boasting breathtaking white sandy shores, and crystal clear turquoise waters of diani beach, which btw, has consistently received accolades and is recognized as one of the best beaches in the world. Rafiki, enjoy the luxury.

We will gather for an early empowerment coaching circle followed by guided meditation and a gratitude ceremony. As we unwind, revel in the tranquillity of another day spent indulging in relaxation and bliss on the shores of the Indian Ocean. In the evening, we will doll up, and come together for a memorable group dinner. This final evening together will serve as a culmination of our extraordinary journey, where we will joyfully recount our most cherished moments and swiftly discuss the logistics for our departure the following day.

Many people often ask us about the safety of travelling to Kenya. We believe that no country in the world can be considered entirely safe, as incidents and crime occur even in the most developed nations. However, we can confidently say that Kenya is indeed a safe destination for both living and travelling. Having personally lived in the country during our early childhood and visiting it annually, we have never felt threatened or unsafe. It is important, though, to exercise general situational awareness and follow standard safety practices that apply worldwide, such as avoiding nighttime solo travel and refraining from displaying expensive belongings.
To visit Kenya, it is essential for all travellers to possess a valid passport. Prior to your travel date, please ensure that your passport has a blank page and is valid until at least Dec 1st, 2023.

Yes, travel insurance is recommended for Soul Route Retreats. It is important to have travel insurance to protect yourself against unforeseen events or emergencies that may occur during your trip. It provides coverage for various aspects such as trip cancellation, medical expenses, lost luggage, and other travel-related incidents. We recommend consulting your travel agent to confirm the specific coverage details. By securing travel insurance, you can embark on your retreat with peace of mind, knowing that you have both financial protection and peace of mind throughout your entire experience.
All Package prices are based on double accupancy. If you are an individual booking the trip independently. Solo travellers will be matched with a roommate, but they also have the choice to upgrade to single / private occupancy for their own room. Simply select the “Single / Private Occupancy add-on” option during the check-out process.
If you are travelling with a companion and wish to share a room, include their first and last name in the comments section when making your reservation. We will make sure you will be assigned to the same room.

Please note that the initial deposit is non-refundable. To confirm your reservation and prevent automatic cancellation, deposits must be submitted within the specified timeframe at the time of booking. Once the deposit has been made, it becomes non-refundable. In the event that you are unable to join the trip, you have the option to transfer the reservation to a family member or friend.
Kindly be advised that all deposits and payments are non-refundable. In the event of a travel ban arising from COVID-19 or unexpected global circumstances, the retreat dates will be rescheduled for a future date. Regrettably, refunds cannot be granted. Please note that any discomfort or unease related to travel or quarantine upon return cannot be considered as valid grounds for cancellation. Furthermore, refunds will not be provided for any personal unforeseen circumstances. It is essential to comprehend that once payments are made, they are deemed final and non-refundable.
The final payment is required to be submitted 60 days before the trip. If the final payment is not received on time, a penalty of 50% will be applied for cancellations made 60 days or more prior to the trip (an additional 25% of the retreat fee will be charged to your card). Cancellations made within 59 days or less of the trip will require full payment of the retreat fee. Additionally, you have the choice to transfer the reservation to a family member or friend.
Absolutely! We warmly welcome participants of all backgrounds that love group adventures, wanting to build authentic connections and trying new things. Come by yourself, as a couple or as a friend group. We love everyone!…The retreat is open to individuals aged 15 and above. Please note that participants between the ages of 15 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or older.
